As a specialist in treating surgical illnesses of the chest affecting the lungs, pleura mediastinum, trachea (windpipe), oesophagus (food pipe), chest wall, and diaphragm, including chest trauma, Dr. (Prof.) Arvind Kumar is a thoracic (chest) surgeon. He is the director of the largest and most thorough programme in the nation for robotic chest surgery, video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), and chest oncosurgery, which provides the whole spectrum of chest surgical services. During his 36 years of appointed duty at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, Dr. Arvind Kumar is recognised with completing the majority of VATS and robotic chest surgeries in India.
